I made this album for a class. It consists of short melodies and improvisations. I taught myself the style of counterpoint to write sheet music for some of the songs, reinterpreted some renaissance music for others, and just played ukulele or guitar at the end. I like the way some of them sound, most are meant to say something about art and aren’t meant to sound great. Give it a listen!
I don’t really use this blog anymore, but I am starting up a language learning blog soon. I want to keep myself focused in learning, and figure a blog is a really great place to do just that! Feel free to follow this aptly titled blog if you’re interested in my own language journey, learning what it is that I do to learn language, or sharing your own ideas about language.
I turn 19 today. Pretty cool. I’ve spent the weekend touring around Boston and learning Portuguese. I think 18 was one of the most fundamental years of my life. I’ve never been smarter, healthier, or happier. I give the right amount of fucks about the right things, and I’m moving faster and faster into those things which I love. Zorba was a great teacher after all!
I’ve recently found new ways to memorize information quickly, efficiently, and (almost) perfectly!
Today I set out on an adventure to memorize the infinitive form of 501 verbs in Brazilian Portuguese in 10 days or under. Should make conjugation on the fly (given that I’m conjugating regular verbs) much easier once I memorize more than just the present and past tenses.
I’ve only studied for a little bit today, and I’m just about 50 words into the challenge so far - will hopefully get another fifty in tomorrow!
